Oscar Elías
Biscet Buried In An Underground Dungeon.
(HAVANA/CUBA/November 18
/Puenteinfocubamiami.org) - On today's date we went to the Prison Kilo
8, in Pinar del Río because on the night of the 12, my husband was
transferred from the Prison Kilo 5 y medio to Kilo 8, and today we were
supposed to have the family visit.
When we arrived, we were told that Oscar was in a punishment cell, with
no visitation rivileges, declared his wife, Elsa Morejón Hernández, vía
telephone from Havana.
Oscar's mother, Hilda González, had a hypertension crisis in the prison
and for humanitarian reasons was allowed to see Oscar for about 10
minutes. I was not allowed to see him or to give him the provisions he
is allowed to receive from his family every three month, alleging this
punishment will last 21 days.
Oscar sends the following message: I am in prison for not accepting to
share a cell with a prisoner sanctioned to life in prison for killing an
old man. I am well, even though I don't see the sky, always in the dark
with a murderous companion that has caused twelve lesions."
On the other hand, in a letter to the family he tells us: "I don't know
why I am in this dismal place, but I can tell you that even in these
dark days I can see the wisdom. If, to conserve the life and to refuse
to live next to an old man murderer, they have me in this underground
dungeon, I won't be angry nor frightened, I will face life's
difficulties to enjoy the germination of the love."
In short, they transferred him to Kilo 8 and they want to him to share a
cell with a supposed criminal, a murderer, and when he refuses to enter
the cell, as punishment they take him to an underground dungeon
alongside another murderer.
We want to appeal to the people that love justice so that they intercede
in this situation. Previously, my husband has been in cells with
dangerous criminals, but only in passing, never to share a cell with
them on a permanent basis. Maybe the authorities have lost all sense of
control in regards to Oscar, for this is the second time he is
transferred to a punishment cell in less than seven months. This is why
we are requesting of those who believe in Jesus Christ to intercede in
my husband's situation and to please pray, for prayer is very important.
In fact, we are praying.
We hope justice will be served, and that this situation ends quickly,
for it is the responsibility of the Cuban authorities.
