Review: On July 13th, 1994 the cuban police sunk a tugboat named ’13 de marzo’ on July 13th 1994. There were 72 civilian persons on the sunken boat, 41 died including 10 children. This atrocity propelled López Bañobre, himself a tugboat captain, to become an active opponent of the government.

The cuban government has accused López Bañobre of assisting political prisoners and death row prisoners in documenting their stories and delivering them to Amnesty Internacional and other human rights organizations with the sole intent of harming the cuban revolution. This ridiculous accusation stood up in a cuban court and was enough to sentence López Bañobre to 15 years in prison.
