Review: The downing of the Brothers to the Rescue airplanes over international waters by the Cuban government has left an impression on the conscience of the Cuban dissidents inside the island as well as those in exile.

Rodríguez Capote was one of the many who wanted to commemorate such a tragic date by protesting. The Cuban authorities frustrated the protesters efforts by arresting the leaders. Prior to the their attempt to demonstrate peacefully, the Cuban government threatened Rodríguez Capote and other human rights activists.

Rodríguez Capote is in prison indefinitely without a trial. Rodríguez Capote has held several hunger strikes in an attempt to attract attention to the plight of Cuban political prisoners.
