Review: Gálvez was an athlete, trainer and physical education
instructor. He also worked as a radio announcer and news reporter. In
2001 Gálvez decided to become an independent journalist. Ever since his
decision to become an independent journalist, Gálvez has had to endure
the constant systematic and institutionalized harassment utilized by the
governmental authorities on anyone who holds a different perspective on
the Cuban leadership. Gálvez’s wife Beatriz is also an independent
journalist. Mr. Guy-Drut a member of the French Assemblée Nationale an
Olympic medalist and like Gálvez, - an physical education instructor by
trade has taken interest in Gálvez’s case and has called for his
release. Gálvez as well as other independent journalists through their
works have helped to lift the veil of lies promoteed by Fidel Castro and
his henchmen.
