Review: Andre Flajolet a member of French National Assembly
(L'ASSEMBLÉE NATIONALE) has personally taken interest in Izquierdo
Hernández’s case, who was sentenced to 16 years in prison for conducting
his duties as an independent journalist and exercising his right to free
expression. Fidel Castro as the head of the only political party in
Cuba,-the Communist Party does not tolerate any dissent from his ill
conceived policies which have progressively driven the island nation to
its worst state in 45 years. Independent journalists are one of the most
persecuted professions in Cuba. Izquierdo Hernández is in prison for
reporting the cuban people’s reality and he is subjected to unspeakable
maltreatment which has unfortunately become very common in Castro’s
prisons.
