Review: Totalitarian regimes are very vulnerable to criticism.
This is the reason why totalitarian regimes endevor to vanish any
information that may make the citizenry aware of the abuses perpetuated
agaisnt the people by the government. Amongst the 75 persons rounded up
by the Cuban regime in 2003 are a considerable number of independent
journalists serving long prison sentences.
Maseda’s alleged crime was to challenge Castro’s tyranny’s monopoly in
information through his press agency- Grupo Decoro.
