Matanzas Review: On several occasions Diosdado González Marrero’s wife Alejandrina, has made public the inhumane conditions her husband has to live under while confined in Cuba’s prison system. In 2004 Diosdado’s case was presented to the International Convention Against Torture, along with the many other political prisoners in Kilo 5½ who endure daily conditions which violate all standards of human rights. Diosdado González Marrero has undergone hunger strikes several times to protest the way he and other prisoners of conscience are treated.
