Review: Escambray is a mountaineous region of Cuba. At the
beginning of his regime Castro found stern opposition by the residents
of this region. Castro’s answer was to conduct a widespread relocation
program of entire families and not always together. Many parents were
separated from their childrens and sibllings too were dispersed
throughout the island. It is in the Manicaragua section where Pérez de
Alejo leads a group of farmers and rural citizens which endeavors to
rescue the region’s dignity.
