A Branch of the
Information Bridge Cuba Miami Press Bureau opened in Manicaragua.
HAVANA, CUBA – November 2 (Carlos Serpa Maceira, Sindical Press,
Information Bridge Cuba Miami/Puenteinfocub amiami.org) - As part of the
effort to promote independent journalism in the island, a new branch of
the Information Bridge Cuba Miami press bureau was constituted in
Manicaragua a municipality of the Villa Clara province.
Ada Olimpia Becerra, independent journalist and activist of the
Democratic Party 30 of November "Frank Páis" is heading this branch.
Achievement of this new bureau in Manicaragua was possible due to the
commitment for democracy and liberty for Cuba of the former Cuban
political prisoner Maritza Lugo Fernández and Daisy Gil Ortiz, general
director of the Information Bridge Cuba Miami; both ladies are living as
exiles in the EE.UU.
The Information Bridge Cuba Miami was founded on October 10, 2005, with
headquarters in La Demajagua, Isle of Pines, and several branches in
Havana and Villa Clara.
