Imprisoned Cuban independent worker confined with common prisoners.

After being more than 60 days in a punishment cell at the prison Kilo 8
in Pinar del Río, the independent worker Nelson Moline Espino, sentenced
to 20 years, was transferred to a unit with common prisoners at the
prison Kilo 5 ½ , located in the same province, pointed out relatives of
the dissident.
"They had him locked in a punishment cell for over 60 days for refusing
to follow military orders and refusing to eat food served in prison, now
they take him back with the penal population confined with common
prisoners even though he is a political prisoner and was recognized a
prisoner of conscience by Amnesty International"- pointed out to
Lux-Info-Press Kirenia Guerra Lugo, wife of the dissident.
Arrested on March 20, 2003, tried and sentenced to 20 years in a summary
trial in April of the same year, the 40 year old president of the Cuban
Democratic Confederation of Workers with the acronym (CTDC), Nelson
Moline Espino has been a victim of physical aggressions, death threats
and his personal property has been stolen by common prisoners.
